Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Gas Alert ("Gas Alert", "we", "us" or "our") handles information in connection with the Gas Alert mobile application (the "App") and this website. We built Gas Alert to be privacy-friendly: it does not require an account, a wallet connection, or your name, and it does not track who you are.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

When you create a gas alert, we store your alert preferences — the network, speed tier, comparison and threshold you choose. These are kept on your device. If you enable push notifications, a copy of your alert preferences is also sent to our alert server so we can notify you when conditions are met (see §3).

Information collected automatically

Push token. If you allow notifications, Apple issues a device push token that we store to deliver alerts. It identifies a device installation, not you personally.
Diagnostic & usage data. Our advertising and platform partners may collect standard technical data such as device model, OS version, app version, coarse region, IP address and advertising identifiers (see §4).

What we do not collect

We do not collect your name, email, wallet address, private keys, seed phrases, balances or transactions. Gas Alert never connects to a wallet and never has custody of any funds.

2. How we use information

To display live gas prices and estimates in the App.
To evaluate your alert rules and send you notifications.
To provide, maintain, secure and improve the App.
To show advertising and process in-app purchases (via our partners).
To comply with legal obligations.

3. Push notifications

To deliver alerts even when the App is closed, we operate an alert server that periodically checks network fees against your saved rules and, when a rule is met, sends a notification through Apple Push Notification service (APNs). For this we store your push token and your alert preferences. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings or by deleting your alerts, which stops this processing. Deleting the App removes your locally stored preferences; associated push tokens expire and are purged from our server.

4. Advertising

The App may display advertising provided by Google AdMob and related Google services, and this website may display Google AdSense. These partners may use cookies, device identifiers and the Apple advertising identifier (IDFA) to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted.

App Tracking Transparency. On iOS we request your permission before any tracking that uses the IDFA. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized.
Controls. You can reset or limit ad tracking in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking / Apple Advertising, and manage Google ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.

5. In-app purchases

Gas Alert offers optional paid upgrades (for example, unlimited alerts and an ad-free experience). All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple shares with us only the information needed to deliver and validate your purchase (such as a receipt or transaction identifier). Subscriptions, if offered, renew and can be cancelled through your App Store account settings.

6. Third-party services

Gas Alert relies on the following categories of third parties, each with their own privacy practices:

Apple — App Store distribution, in-app purchases and APNs push delivery.
Google — AdMob/AdSense advertising.
Blockchain data providers — public blockchain explorers, node RPC endpoints and price feeds used to obtain gas and price data. The App requests public network data from these providers; it does not send them your personal information.
Hosting — cloud infrastructure that runs our alert server and this website.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers described above, to the extent needed to run the App, or where required by law. Under the CCPA/CPRA, we do not "sell" or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising beyond the ad-partner activity you can control in §4.

8. Retention and security

We keep push tokens and alert preferences only for as long as your alerts are active; inactive or invalid tokens are deleted automatically. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EEA/UK under GDPR and California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your information, and to opt out of certain advertising. Because Gas Alert does not collect identifying information, most data is either on your device or limited to a push token. To exercise a request or ask a question, contact us at support@gasalert.app. You may also disable notifications and advertising identifiers directly in iOS Settings.

10. Children

Gas Alert is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes and contact
